When you click on the convert farm license type Link, you will be landed on convert license type page. This page will give you the option to change the License type from Standard to enterprise or from trail to regular. Convert license type page's direct link: /admin/Conversion.aspx. There is a situation when you have to change the product key of SharePoint farm.
- Microsoft don't care if the SharePoint farm has been installed with an MSDN license key or the one that you got when you paid for the license. If they do an audit they'll be interested in how many servers you have and how many licenses you have and that's all.
- The download contains one setup for SharePoint 2010, one for SharePoint 2013, one for SharePoint 2016 and one for SharePoint 2019. Download the latest setup. View the release notes. Run setup.exe as an administrator and choose ‘Repair' after the system check. If the setup can't connect to the key validation service the setup will fail.

So you feel like entering a new product key. Say you used that MSDN key in production, and now want to enter the product key. Well, according to Central Administration –> Upgrade and Migration –> Convert License Type, you can't! The Product Key field is greyed out.
Of course, there is a way around this, but…
Connect to your SQL Server and your Configuration Database. After taking a backup of your Configuration Database, run the following query:
Now, when you go to Convert License Type, you'll notice that your product says it is a Trial, and it gives you the opportunity to enter a Product Key. Once the new Product Key is entered, your license will now expire one nanosecond prior to 1/1/10000.
Again, this is completely unsupported. In fact, the only supported way to change your product key is to rebuild your farm. So don't do the above.
